Unlike the first version, which primarily focused on guided recipes and automation, the new model brings tangible upgrades: it cooks up to 40% faster, reaches higher temperatures (up to 160°C) for browning and frying, and includes a glass lid with a virtual flame indicator to replicate the familiarity of stovetop cooking. It also integrates a weighing scale with macro-tracking, giving users the ability to monitor calories, proteins, carbs, and fats as they cook.
For families juggling varied dietary needs, Upliance 2.0 introduces adaptive cooking modes — from low-oil and high-protein to Jain and kid-friendly. The recipes themselves, over 750 of them at launch, span the range from everyday staples like dal, rasam, and sabzi to international dishes such as risotto, hummus, and Thai curry. Importantly, once synced, recipes are available offline, a nod to India’s patchy internet reliability.
The technology layer is powered by the company’s in-house AI engine, UpAI, which enables recipe customisation and guided cooking. Smarter motor controls for chopping and stirring further reduce the hands-on effort, while remote mobile syncing allows cooking to be monitored or in some cases, completed without being physically present in the kitchen.
While the appliance world has seen several global smart cooking devices, Upliance.ai has carved out a niche by focusing on Indian households where variety, dietary diversity, and speed are daily requirements.
