On the hunt for new wireless earbuds? Apple’s top-rated AirPods Pro 2 are still a cracking choice – even with the shiny new AirPods Pro 3 now available.It’s rare to see too many discounts on Apple products, but AirPods have bucked that trend for the last year or so.
If you’ve been after a pair of wireless headphones (Apple-made or not), there’s no better time than today, thanks to this deal. I think this could be the best headphone deal we see in all the Black Friday sales.
Right now at Walmart, the AirPods Pro 2 are going for just $139 – an incredibly good $110 off their usual $249 sticker. In fact, that’s almost as cheap as the non-ANC AirPods 4! Yes, they’re technically “last-gen” now, but at that price, who cares? They’re just as good as the newer version in some way, and I actually think they’re more comfortable. On Amazon UK, you’ll find the headphones discounted by a smaller 15% to £169 from the regular price of £199.
This is the latest version of the AirPods Pro 2, by the way – the one with the USB-C port, hearing aid features, and lower latency with the Vision Pro headset. Basically, all the bells and whistles you could want, short of the AirPods Pro 3’s upgraded ANC system. We slapped them with a perfect five stars in our Apple AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) review. The second-gens are a “compelling upgrade” from the first edition Pros.
What won us over? The top-notch noise cancellation for starters – made even better with refined tuning and upgraded microphones. For years, it was the best noise cancellation you could get in wireless buds – usurped only by the new AirPods Pro 3. Transparency Mode also got a revamp, with adaptive tech that adjusts based on your surroundings. And the new case? It’s got a built-in speaker, Find My support, and even a lanyard loop for the overly cautious.
All that, and they still sound brilliant. If you can live without the very latest and greatest, this Black Friday deal is as close to a no-brainer as it gets.
