The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website is reportedly facing an outage. Downdetector showed a spike in problem reports with 36% reports related to the app, 30% reports with the website and 35% reports related to ticketing.
Several users took to X to complain about not being able to login with some posting screenshots of the website page showing an error message saying, “Booking and cancellation for all sites will not be available for the next hour. Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.”
People who were able to login eventually after multiple attempts expressed disappointed as the peak tatkal booking window had closed.
A couple of weeks ago, the website had faced an outage again due to scheduled maintenance preventing users from accessing the e-ticketing and tatkal services during the holiday season.
