The company said the facility will serve as a critical enabler for AI workloads and digital-first enterprises, providing scalable infrastructure and high-performance computing capabilities.
“With our cumulative investment now crossing Rs 10,000 crore from an initial commitment of Rs 2,500 crore, we are not only building digital infrastructure but also creating an ecosystem of opportunity,” chairman and managing director of Sify Technologies Raju Vegesna said in a statement.
He added that the facility is likely to generate employment for 10,000 people—direct and indirect— as this facility ramps up.
“This data centre isn’t just infrastructure—it’s a strategic digital gateway for enterprises and governments aiming to harness AI, cloud, and high-speed data solutions. We’re proud to support Tamil Nadu’s digital ambitions and to be part of India’s data-driven future,” he said.
The inauguration took place in the presence of Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin as well as the state minister for micro, small and medium enterprises TM Anbarasan and TN industries minister TRB Rajaa.

“With plans to invest Rs 13,000 crore more by 2027 as it scales up further, this futuristic centre reinforces Tamil Nadu’s position as the preferred destination for global digital infrastructure,” Stalin said in a post on X. Rajaa on his part took to X to say that the facility that was inaugurated is one of three towers that Sify will build, with this single tower developed with an investment of Rs. 1,882 crore.
“This facility is also the first in India to receive the NVIDIA DGX-Ready Data centre certification – it’s built ground-up to power the next generation of AI workloads,” he explained. “Tamil Nadu’s AI and data infrastructure story is booming — and we’re building it not just with land and power, but also talent and skills.”
Sify said that with an eventual capacity of 130 MW, this facility will be the only data centre in India with an on-site open cable landing station, providing enhanced global connectivity and network performance.
Further, as part of its long-term environmental goals, Sify said it aspires to power the Siruseri data centre entirely with renewable energy and manage it using sustainable building management practices, setting a new benchmark in eco-conscious digital infrastructure.
