The new iPhone 16 range has now started fully shipping as of 20 September. Once again there are four handsets available – iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
A lot is being made of Apple Intelligence, the new AI features. However, it is worth noting this won’t roll out until iOS 18.1. It’ll be available in the US English from October and in UK English from December.

iPhone 16 deals
The 6.1in iPhone 16 now has the Action button from last year’s iPhone 15 Pro as well as the new Camera Control. There’s also a new 2x optical zoom.
iPhone 16 Plus deals
The iPhone 16 Plus is exactly the same as the standard iPhone 16 aside from the larger 6.7in screen (with larger resolution) and a longer-life battery.

The iPhone 16 Pro is larger this year at 6.3in (as opposed to the 6.1in of last year’s iPhone 15 Pro and the standard iPhone 16). It has the A18 Pro chip and 5x optical zoom, which was only on the Pro Max last year. The cameras are now capable of 4K 120fps slow motion.
iPhone 16 Pro Max deals
As well as being supersized to 6.9in (up from 6.7in) and having all the features of the iPhone 16 Pro. The Pro Max camera is the same as the Pro this year. But battery life is again a lot better than Pro and is a really great reason to go Pro Max. Apple cites 33 hours of continuous video playback which is a 14% improvement over the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The best carrier deals for iPhone 16 in the US and UK
If you’re after a new iPhone but want to get the device on a contract instead of buying it from Apple, you have a few options. Certain carriers have released early contract deals for the new iPhones, but more will be added in the coming days – after pre-orders go live. Here are some of the best iPhone 16 carrier deals in the UK and US so far:
US carriers
Some US carriers are offering the device for free when you trade-in your old iPhone, so check with your carrier for the best deals.
UK networks
- EE is offering iPhone 16 in the UK from £38 per month plus £30 upfront on an Essential Plan for iPhone. On a Full Works Plan for iPhone and a 36 month Flex Pay agreement, iPhone 16 is available with trade in from EE for £54.24 per month, plus £30 upfront, increasing to £74.24 after 24 months. - Three has the iPhone 16 128GB with unlimited data, calls and texts for £30 upfront, plus £30.50 per month. You can save up to £612 when trading in an iPhone 14 128GB, too. The iPhone 16 Pro Max, meanwhile, will set you back £60 upfront and £37.25 per month – but if you’ve got an iPhone 14 Pro Max 128GB to trade in you can get £747 off the total bill.
- Sky Mobile will offer the iPhone 16 Pro from £33 per month, the iPhone 16 from £26, iPhone 16 Plus from £30, and iPhone 16 Pro Max from £39 – all with no upfront fee, 12 months half price on data plans, and unlimited calls & texts. Get the iPhone 16 from Sky.
- Vodafone is offering iPhone 16 from £12.57 a month with a £30 upfront cost. The price is based on an 36-month Phone Plan (£23.34 a month) and 3GB 24-month Airtime Plan (£20 a month), (this includes a trade-in saving.
