WhatsApp is working on launching a feature that will remind users about status updates and messages they have not seen yet, reported WaBetaInfo.

The feature applies to the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.25.29 update via the Google Play Store.

The new reminders are reportedly being rolled out to WhatsApp beta testers, but others should be able to expect them in a few weeks, per the outlet.

In order to send notifications efficiently, WhatsApp will analyse a user’s interactions with those whom they contact frequently, reported WaBetaInfo. This way, targeted and occasional notifications can be sent without irritating the user who receives them.

For a user who wants a reminder-free WhatsApp experience, there is also an option to turn off the reminders.

WhatsApp recently shipped other features, including an indicator to show a user’s profile picture in a small bubble whenever they are typing out a message in group chats.

Users will also be able to auto-save incomplete WhatsApp messages as drafts in order to return to them later.
